The Pregnancy Loss Training by Evelyn James and Company is very comprehensive and created with a lot of heart, understanding, and empathy by Vallen, who has experienced her own pregnancy loss. It covers topics I hadn't even considered that come into play as families navigate their grief. I feel much more prepared to support families through pregnancy loss than prior to taking the training. As a birth doula, I believe pregnancy loss training should be a required for certification, because when we do this work long term, we will inevitably experience a client's loss. Being prepared to offer the right support at this time is critical.

Absolutely! Not everyone wants to do this work full-time. And that is OKAY! It is amazing that you DO know this about yourself. You DO NOT have to offer bereavement services just because you are trained in providing bereavement support. It is a skill just like being a birth doula.
