“Vallen speaks from her heart and personal experience. She knows what is most helpful to grieving families, and has put together a comprehensive curriculum that is exactly what I needed to feel prepared and confident in supporting families who have experienced loss.”
Deborah Black
“The thoroughness in terms of both the breadth and depth of content covered. It was also extremely helpful to be able to hear firsthand for both individuals who has experienced loss themselves or support families navigating loss. The candid yet caring nature that you carried yourself with, Vallen, and just the energy you set throughout the training was super helpful in terms of communicating the all important and subtle information on how to be with, speak about, and hold with gentleness and strength all that loss may mean for an individual/family and all that it brings forth.
The work that Vallen is doing is so important-- this content should be a part of every doula and birth professional's knowledge base! As a doula and perinatal mental health professional in-training, having the opportunity to move through this material in an informed, compassionate, community space felt invaluable. Vallen's heart is in every bit of this, and she is doing such a beautiful thing through turning tragedy to teaching and providing the opportunity for folks to increase their comfortability with supporting clients navigating loss. So many rippling effects come from this-- thanks, Vallen!”
